Thanks for joining us! In this class we’re going to explore the benefits of Young Living’s Essential Rewards program. As we start, tell us a little bit about YOU!
Tell us where you’re joining us from and what type of Essential Rewards person you are. Are you just starting to investigate Essential Rewards, participating in Essential Rewards but somewhat new, or an Essential Rewards veteran?
- THE BASICS
Have you heard about one of Young Living’s best kept secrets? Well, maybe it’s not a secret, but you MAY not realize how much you can benefit from this.
I’m talking about the Essential Rewards (ER) program. This is a monthly subscription box program that is available only for those who are YL wholesale members.
To enroll in this program, you commit to spending only $50 (50 PV) a month on YL oils and other products.
So, what ARE the benefits of being an ER member?
Essential Rewards does exactly what its name suggests. It rewards you for being a wholesale member who orders monthly. Here is how you are rewarded.
* Access to Young Living’s YL Go shipping savings program
* Special monthly sales and bonus promotions
* Loyalty gifts at different membership milestones
Before we get to the other benefits, if you have this month’s YL promotional items info handy take a look. Can you find the bonus product(s) that’s only sent to Essential Rewards members? Exciting!
- ESSENTIAL REWARDS POINTS
I’ll bet you already know about reward programs. Do you earn points at the grocery store and redeem them for gas discounts? Do you get rewards for using your credit card? Do have a frequent shopper card for your favorite store?
Young Living members enrolled in Essential Rewards automatically earn rebate points each month! And Young Living’s generosity goes WAY beyond any other rewards program I’ve seen!
These points spend just like money… 1 point = 1 dollar in value.
For the first 3 months you are an ER member, you earn 10% of your order’s product value back in bonus points. During months 4 through 24, that percentage back increases to 20%!
Starting with month 25, you earn a whopping 25% back for each month’s product value that you order! In a few minutes we’ll talk in detail about how to redeem those points for free products.
**** MATH TIME! ****
Let’s see who can earn our gold star for math! If you joined Essential Rewards and ordered just 50PV for your first 12 months, how many ER points would you earn?
(Answer: 105 points)
(Explanation for comments: For the first 3 months, you would earn 10% back. That’s $5 per month x 3 months = $15. For the next 9 months, you would earn 20% back. That’s $10 per month x 9 months = $90. For the year, you would earn $105 back!)
- MORE REWARDS FOR LOYALTY
BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE! 🙂 No, it’s not a cheesy infomercial line. There really is even more to the loyalty rewards from Young Living.
All Essential Rewards members will qualify for gifts at 3, 6, and 9 months of membership. At 12 months, you’ll get a special gift from Young Living, an oil blend called Loyalty, which is only available through this Essential Rewards consistency program.
- WHY ENROLL?
There are many fabulous reasons that people enroll in Essential Rewards. Which of these describe you?

- MORE BENEFITS
The Essential Rewards monthly wellness program puts YOU in control. Each month you have the ability to log into your Young Living Virtual Office (VO) and select the products you want to receive that month.
There’s no limit to the number of times you update your ER cart each month. If you forget to change your order, you will simply get the same order you got the previous month.
You also get to select what date of the month you want your order to process. And, once again, you can change that date from month to month, if you want. Most of us find it simplest to just pick and stick with the same date each month.

- GETTING STARTED
Wondering how to get started on Essential Rewards? Follow the simple steps in this graphic, and you’re on your way!
A few pro tips:
* If you don’t see an available processing day for this month, you can choose a date on next month’s calendar. Then call Member Services (1-800-371-3515). They can switch you to a date this month!
* Watch your total when adding items to your cart. You may be close to a monthly promo! Add an item to two if you’re close!
* Round up your order to benefit the Young Living Foundation! It may only be a few cents, but those really add up when we all round up!
- UPDATING YOUR ORDER
Wondering how to change your monthly order once you enroll? Just follow these simple steps:
* Log in to your Virtual Office.
* Click Essential Rewards in the menu.
* Click the View Order button.
* Add new items to your cart.
* Click the trash can icon by any items you want to remove from your cart.
* Click the Save Monthly Order button.
* Return to your Essential Rewards summary page to update your shipping, processing date, or payment method.
Helpful Hint: If you get emails from Young Living, they will email you a monthly reminder a few days before your next ER order is scheduled to process. If you’re not getting emails from YL, go to My Account > My Preferences to change your settings.
- SPENDING POINTS
So now to the fun part…. spending those points you earn!
Remember, each point is worth $1 toward products.
To redeem your points, place a Quick Order. The Quick Order button is on the left side of the Welcome page on your Virtual Office dashboard. It’s in the menu on mobile devices.
Put the items you want into your cart. Head to the check out, and choose points as your payment method. Checkmark the items you want to buy using points.
You must have enough points to fully purchase each product. However, you CAN pay for some items using points and then pay for additional items separately.
If a product’s PV and price don’t match, you can’t redeem ER points for it. Example: Diffusers have a lower PV than their cost, so they can’t be purchased with points. Also, newly released products can’t be purchased with ER points.
Pro Tip: If you search for an item and see a little blue flag beside it’s PV, it IS eligible for ER point redemption!
ER points expire 12 months after they have been earned. Your Virtual Office will let you know if you have points that are about to expire.

- ESSENTIAL REWARDS KITS

Buying ER kits isn’t a requirement. You can order anything you want as long as your order is 50PV or more each month. These kits are just an added bonus for additional savings.
Take a look at the NingXia Red ER Kit. It comes with 4 bottles and 30 2oz pouches of NingXia Red. If you bought those separately, the cost would be $217.75.

- SAVE ON SHIPPING
Another benefit of being an Essential Rewards member is being able to join the YL Go program.
This is a shipping subscription program where you pay once for your YL Go membership and then don’t get charged for shipping on your Essential Rewards orders! For this introductory cycle, you get 13 ER orders shipped for your $59 membership fee. If you were paying even $6 shipping per order before, you’re going to save at least $19 per year.
Odds are good that you’re going to save even more than that though because…. There’s NO LIMIT on what you can ship in your box! Need an 8-pack of NingXia Red? No extra charge! Need a big Thieves Cleaner refill? No extra charge! Order as much as you want without paying any extra shipping with your YL Go subscription.
If you’re like me and KNOW that you’re going to have some quick orders thrown in throughout the year, you may want to consider the YL Go+ subscription. This $129 option gives you 12 ER orders plus 24 quick orders without paying shipping. And there’s still no limit on what you can ship in each box!
You can use those 24 quick order credits to grab items that come back in stock or that go on sale. You can use those credits to redeem your Essential Rewards points. You can even ship Young Living goodies to a friend or family member! You can also upgrade to overnight shipping for just $10 extra per order!
You’ll see the YL Go and YL Go+ options appear once you’ve signed up for the Essential Rewards subscription program!
So what HEAVY favorites would you put into your YL Go/Go+ boxes?
- HELPFUL HINTS FOR ORDERING
You only get ONE Essential Rewards order per month, so you want to choose your products wisely. How do you decide what to order each month?
Check your supply of oils that you use regularly. Do you have enough to last for the next few weeks? If not, add them to your ER order.
Pick one or two of your current home care or personal care products and replace them with a healthier option from Young Living. Think about the possibilities!
* Household cleaner
* Toothpaste, mouthwash
* Shampoo, conditioner
* Bar soap, shower gel
* Deodorant, lotion
* Facial cleanser
* Baby care products
Remember, ordering these things on Essential Rewards earns you points for products you would be purchasing anyways!
Which home or personal care product would you like to swap out for a non-toxic alternative?
- PV ASSISTANT
Products go out of stock. That’s just a fact when you’re dealing with 100% pure products. Because Young Living doesn’t buy oils from brokers or use synthetics, they have a limited amount of plant material to work with. Once that plant material is used up, oils made with that particular plant will go out of stock until the next growing season.
When you sign up for Essential Rewards, you agree to purchase 50PV or more of product each month. If you set up your order a few days early, you may not realize that an out of stock item has been removed from your order. That could cause it to fall below the 50PV minimum.
This is totally avoidable.
Using PV Assistant, you set your desired monthly Essential Rewards PV. You ALSO pre-select a list of products for the Assistant to choose from IF your order does not meet the required minimum. If your order falls below that minimum PV, the PV Assistant will add as many of your pre-selected products as needed to bring your order back up to your desired PV amount.
* Young Living adds items beginning at the top of your list. They’re added in order until your PV reaches the level you set.
* If you plan to earn any of the monthly promos, set your PV Assistant for that promo level.
* You can change your PV Assistant each month to meet different goals.
To set up your PV Assistant, follow the directions in the graphic. Leave a comment telling us which things you plan to add to your PV Assistant.
- STOCKPILE POINTS
If you don’t use your Essential Rewards points right away, they really add up! That means you can grab more products with points at one time. Maybe you’ll use them to stock up for winter wellness or grab some springtime products. You can use them to buy gifts for special occasions like birthdays, weddings, graduations, new babies, and Christmas.
Of course you have my permission to use those points to pamper yourself with products that you might not usually treat yourself to. 🙂

🎯 While the process of signing up for Young Living and ER with a PSK purchase is easy, there are a couple of tips an enrolling member needs to keep in mind:
💫 Step 1: Choose Your Starter Kit, the enrollee must select their PSK, then click the box below, reading, “Use the selected Premium Starter Kit as my first Essential Rewards order and sign me up for an Essential Rewards subscription.”
** If the member would like to enroll with a Savvy PSK on ER, they will need to contact Member Services directly. This is a temporary change and we will update the post when Savvy kits are back online for this new enhanced ER enrollment! **
💫 Step 2: This step is very important if the enrollee would like to add additional products. Do not select another ER kit as this will cause their PSK purchase to not count toward their ER enrollment. If the enrollee would like to add to their initial PSK order, they may do so by clicking on “Customize Your Kit” in Step 2 and selecting additional items to add to their ER cart.
It’s important to add additional items in this manner so that the items added will end up in their ER cart and not their QO cart. If you click on the button at the bottom to “Add More Products” those items will not be added to their ER cart.
💫 Step 3: Following signup, the enrollee should log back in to Virtual Office to set up their ER template for future orders; if they don’t, each month they will be sent the PSK they originally selected!
